Happy Tuesday and welcome to yet another episode of New Release Tuesday on This Week in YA! Thank you to JesseTheReader for filling in for me last week to tell you all about the books you should be HYPED about!
The Rise of Nine (Lorien Legacies #3) by Pittacus Lore
You know that time Alex Prettyface was in that movie, I Am Number Four with Quinn Fabray from Glee? Well, there’s the third book in the series titled The Rise of Nine!
I know nothing.
Such Wicked Intent (The Apprenticeship of Victor Frankenstein #2) by Kenneth Oppel
Tragedy! Dark sciences! *GASP* and a portal to a new world! Seems like a sequel full of adventure and edge-of-your-seat MADNESS!
Smashed by Lisa Luedeke
Katie is the star of her field hockey team with a little alcohol problem. Which is the least of her problems after she gets involved with Alec. This is for fans of Laurie Halse Anderson’s Speak.
Over You by Emma McLaughlin and Nicola Kraus
Trailer
Max becomes the Charlie Bartlett of her school by knowing the secrets of getting over being dumped. Of course she has to find out how to FINALLY get over her ex. After watching the trailer, I really want to read this book.
Heaven (Halo #3) by Alexandra Adornetto
Bethany is an angel and Xavier is a mere mortal, in love and facing their toughest challenges yet! *faints* I don’t knoooow.
Two or Three Things I Forgot to Tell You by Joyce Carol Oates
This is for fans of Thirteen Reasons Why and Wintergirls. It’s about a girl named Tink who disappeared OR DID SHE?!
Life Happens Next by Terry Trueman
Sequel to Stuck in Neutral. About a boy with severe cerebral palsy in love with a girl, but all people see is a crippled kid in a wheelchair. Sounds like a very emotionally intense book.
Pizza, Love, and Other Stuff That Made Me Famous by Kathryn Williams
Best title AND best cover, probably because it looks a bit like Allison Brie. This novel is about a girl who competes on a reality cooking show to win a scholarship. It looks like a rather fun read!
City of Swords (Stravaganza #6) by Mary Hoffman
No, this isn’t a part of the TMI series. This is a story about a girl named Laura who has the ability to travel in time and space. She travels to 16th century Italy to escape her depressed life and ends up falling in LOOOOVE. Apparently they’re on opposing sides of a fight, so I’m looking forward to SWORDS AND MORE SWORDS.
The Sweetest Spell by Suzanne Selfors
About a girl who can churn milk into chocolate. UM, CAN I HAVE THAT ABILITY NOW?!
The Raft by S.A. Bodeen
Who doesn’t love a plane crash survival story. C’MON! 231 pages.
Most of these sound rather appealing to me! Let me know if you are planning on picking up any of these novels.
