Beware the Gonzo (2010)
Director/Writer: Bryan Goluboff
Stars: Ezra Miller, Zoe Kravitz, Jesse McCartney, Amy Sedaris, Judah Friedlander & more.
Watch It: Netflix | Amazon Instant | Trailer
I just finished watching Beware the Gozo, starring the wonderful Ezra Miller and his very long and lanky legs. So if you’ve watched Perks of Being a Wallflower and need more of him, this is your flick.
Watch the Gonzo is about our pal Eddie “Gonzo” who comes up with these really crazy ideas for the school newspaper. The editor and star wrestler, Gavin, doesn’t like him or his ideas so much so he cuts Gonzo’s first article of the year to a mere sentence or two. Gonzo and his group of misfits start their own paper and website to share their kind of news. Gossip, advice, even rating the school bullies. Of course this takes a turn for the worse when Gonzo and Gavin start a war of the egos to see who can churn out the biggest pile of dirt on one another.
A+ young adult film, in my book. Aesthetically pleasing, good acting, great story. It wasn’t so much about revenge against the popular kids as much as it was about this group of people telling their own story and seeing who they could really become. Evie has had quite the dark past which she reveals to Gonzo at one point. Near the end of the film, she thanks him in a round-about way for pulling her out of the role of “victim” and making her see that she is so much more.
So if you’re looking for something with a YA feel featuring some revolutionary journalism and some very talented young actors, check out Beware the Gonzo.
Rating: 5/5 stars. Flawless.

I hadn’t heard of this one before, but it sounds like a fun read. I’ll TBR it.
Thanks for the review!
It’s a movie not based on a book! I found it on Netflix :] I just thought I’d start reviewing movies with YA themes :]
