Alright, I didn’t make it too far yesterday since I decided that it was absolutely necessary to see Star Trek: Into Darkness in IMAX 3D. WORTH IT!  Seriously, this is the best Star Trek thing.

I continued reading The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan.  I’m hoping to finish it today and get on to Never Have I Ever by Sarah Shepard and read a bit of Delirium by Lauren Oliver.

I’ve made it to day 4 of Bout of Books! Woo! I had today off, so I got a lot of reading done.  And it turns out I have tomorrow off as well, so even more!  I’m on a Riordan kick, so you can probably tell how this video is going to go. Haha!  I really enjoy his writing style and characters.

What are you reading today?

Whoops, I didn’t update for yesterday’s going-ons.  I ended up staying out late with one of my friends.

Yesterday, I decided to drop The Tragedy Paper (for the moment) to pick up The Cavendish Home for Boys and Girls by Claire Legrand. SO GOOD. I loved it.  I finished it this afternoon and started reading The Last Olympian. Yay!  So glad to be finishing this series! (Percy Jackson & The Olympians)

Okay, gotta get back to the twitter chat! Ahhh, it’s so much fun.

How are your goals going? I know I’m behind a bit, but I know I’ll catch up.  These books are so good! I’m so glad I picked up some great middle great series. And I’m listening to the audiobook for Never Have I Ever by Sarah Shepard. TEAM ETHAN!

Well, yeah.  I went to work and then I played around on the internet.  I went to moderate an event featuring Lurlene McDaniel and Lauren Morrill.  It was quite fabulous.

I’m currently reading The Tragedy Paper by Elizabeth LaBan! I’m hoping to finish it either tonight or tomorrow morning.

Summary:
Mary Shelley lives in the year 1918 with a war raging on and the Spanish Influenza making a scene. Her father is imprisoned, sending her off to her aunt in California, where her childhood best friend’s family now lives. He’s off to war, leaving her wondering if he’s alive or not. Stephen (the childhood friend)’s brother is a spirit photographer, taking advantage of those who wish to see their deceased loved ones. Of course, Mary Shelley suspects something dark going on so she’s off to investigate!

Review:
This was such a great read. I loved Mary Shelley. She’s this brilliant girl who can do some stupid stuff sometimes (like getting herself struck by lightning), but she really does figure it all out. Oh man, when she starts seeing the ghost of Stephen, I was totally spooked! Wow. I can’t even. It’s crazy! I loved the mystery aspect of this book as well as the paranormal side of it as well.

Overall, a brilliantly written novel with a brilliant main character. I loved every minute of it!

I’ll be asking them some questions and fielding some questions from the audience.  If you’ve ever wanted to meet some awesome authors, this would be your chance to do so!  If you don’t live in Georgia, there are some more tour stops.

I’ve read Lurlene’s latest novel, The Year of Luminous Love, and it’s a crazy adventure!  If you like contemporary fiction, this one should be your next purchase.  I’ve also read Lauren’s book which you can read my review here.  I’m in the midst of reading The Tragedy Paper by Elizabeth LaBan, which I’ll hopefully be finished with by Tuesday!

I hope you can either come out to these two events or one closer to your area!  It’s going to be so much fun. And real. Let’s not forget the realness.

What are some series that you’ve been wanting to read but you just haven’t gotten around to reading yet?

This wonderful series is written by Charles Gilman and published by the wonderful people of Quirk Books.

Overall, I really loved this book! I’d say it’s safe for anyone 8+ years old.  It’s a pretty clean book.  I would just watch out for the bugs in book 3: Teacher’s Pest!  Ah, they’re creepy.  The covers are absolutely fantastic!  I love the double image thing they’ve got going on.

What up nerds?! It’s that time of the year again! I know how much y’all enjoyed last year’s FCBD video, so I decided to go for it again.  This year, I’m pushing to read all the comics I picked up and bought because I think I might have read 2-3 of them last year.  Yikes!
